Museums face increasing challenges in safeguarding their invaluable collections from theft and vandalism.
Traditional security measures like alarms, cameras, and guards are essential but often insufficient. Fog cannons offer a modern, effective solution to enhance museum security.
A modern effective solution Fog cannons protect museums It is of extreme importance to ensure the preservation of history and art for museums. The items are irreplaceable and are the core of the whole museum business. Traditional security measures such as alarms and surveillance can provide valuable protection and evidence in case of a robbery. However, these systems won’t actually stop the robber. An alarm will notify security personnel that a breach has happened. However, it doesn’t always leave enough time for them to act or for reinforcement to arrive. Therefore, there is a need for a proactive solution that will stop the criminals in their tracks. If pieces are stolen insurance only covers the financial losses in relation to the criminal’s action. However, the pieces at a museum are irreplaceable, and the financial loss it far from the only loss the museum will experience. Moreover, if valuable pieces are missing from the exhibitions, museum visitors might not have the same interest in exploring the museum. Therefore, robberies can lead to fewer and disappointed visitors. This means that museums can experience a loss in ticket sales and revenue.

Yes! Our fog cannons are prepared for hidden installation above the ceiling or behind the wall. It just requires a small hole to allow the fog to be fired into the room. However, if thefog cannons is placed in a loft ceiling make sure that it is dry and always above 5 degrees C. If the fog cannon does not reach all the way through the wall, we have an extension piece for the nozzle. Just ask your alarm installer. (Please note that the extension piece CANNOT be used for installations in the ceiling).

It is recommended that a fog cannon from PROTECT ™ be serviced once a year, along with your alarm installation. Just like a boiler in a house.
It varies by room size, location of the fog cannon, number of fog cannons and model used. After just a few seconds it is impossible to see anything in the fog. Your alarm installer will help with sizing and a good deal. Please contact us for the nearest dealer and/or a free demo.
No. However, we recommend venting within 1 hour of firing to avoid condensation of the water-based fog. If this does not happen, you will probably still not be able to see or feel that a fog cannon has been fired. Any cleaning on horizontal surfaces should only be with a ragged cloth without detergents.
The fog from a PROTECT Fog Cannon ® will stay in the room for up to an hour after firing without venting. We recommend venting within one hour of the firing.
