You Can’t see Your Hand in Front of Your Face A proven security measure Electronic stores carry a lot of different kinds of electronics, which often means that the inventory has a high value, making them more vulnerable to theft. Thieves target electronics stores both during the day and at nighttime, when they can go unseen. If your store isn’t well protected, there can be problems with the insurance company when the cost of theft should be covered. Therefore, it is important to have both active and proactive security measures for the insurance companies to cover the cost. A break-in can also mean that the store will have to close down for a while so that the damage and loss of electronics can be resolved. It can be expensive to replace everything, and the continuity of operations is key for retailers such as electronics stores. If the store is closed, then the most important part of their business, the customers, will sometimes go elsewhere to find the product they need.

Stop theft right when it takes place Enhance your security infrastructure Electronic stores can resolve these problems with fog security. By installing a proactive security system, you’re able to stop theft right when it takes place. Several electronic stores have installed PROTECT Fog Cannons as part of their security infrastructure with great success. Norway: “In the fog, we can’t even see our hands in front of our faces,” explains Frank Slåtsveen from Sony Center in Oslo, which once suffered six break-ins in one year. After installing fog protection, the store has only had one attempted burglary in three years! Expert’s Security Manager in Norway, Georg Vedeler, says: “Since we had the fog cannons fitted, there have only been three attempted burglaries, which naturally backfired. “If we hadn’t installed fog protection, we wouldn’t have been able to get insurance,” he adds.

Austria: At both Sony Center in Denmark and Expert in Austria, the customer stipulates that the fog cannons must be concealed in the stylish store interiors. “Mechanical protection in the shop windows is not an option, so we chose fog protection,” says Karl Neumann from Expert in Gmunden, Austria. Simply by installing fog cannons these electronic stores have been able to have minimal loss of the expensive products, been able to be covered by their insurance and avoided expensive disruptions to their daily operations.

No, the dense security fog is quite harmless. The fog can be compared to “disco smoke”. PROTECT’s security fog have been documented by laboratories at home and abroad, including the Institute of Technology in Denmark. See documentation on our website.
No. However, we recommend venting within 1 hour of firing to avoid condensation of the water-based fog. If this does not happen, you will probably still not be able to see or feel that a fog cannon has been fired. Any cleaning on horizontal surfaces should only be with a ragged cloth without detergents.
The fog from a PROTECT Fog Cannon ® will stay in the room for up to an hour after firing without venting. We recommend venting within one hour of the firing.
It varies by store size, location of the fog cannon, number of fog cannons and model used. After just a few seconds it is impossible to see anything in the fog. Your alarm installer will help with sizing and a good deal. Please contact us for the nearest dealer and/or a free demo.
Yes! Our fog cannons are prepared for hidden installation above the ceiling or behind the wall. It just requires a small hole to allow the fog to be fired into the room. However, if thefog cannons is placed in a loft ceiling make sure that it is dry and always above 5 degrees C. If the fog cannon does not reach all the way through the wall, we have an extension piece for the nozzle. Just ask your alarm installer. (Please note that the extension piece CANNOT be used for installations in the ceiling).
