Positive experiences with fog security lead to new installations at Kolind pharmacy in Denmark

Having had positive experiences with fog security in the past, pharmacist Lisbet Høgh has decided to install fog cannons at her new center of operations in the city of Kolind, Denmark. The fog is compatible both with the medicine and the pharmaceutical robot that works behind the counter. The fog passes without problems both on the medicine and the pharmacy’s new medicine robot.

Unfortunately, pharmacies are frequent targets for break-ins. A pharmacy suffered their share of burglaries as well – that is, until they installed fog cannons at one pharmacy five years ago. Since then, the shop has not even experienced an attempted break-in. The same has been true for another retail pharmacy at which they installed fog security. “We have done a lot about the security. But just avoiding attempted break-ins is worth it all,” says Lisbet Høgh, the leading pharmacist.

Their newest pharmacy which opened, also have been burglar-proofed with fog security. 

Lisbet Høgh recently opened a brand-new pharmacy in the former station building in Kolind, which is located near Aarhus Airport, Denmark. In the pharmacy, the rooms have also been burglar-proofed with fog security.

The robot vanishes in the mist 

When they were deciding whether to use both a robot and fog security at the pharmacy, it had to be demonstrated that the two technologies could work together.

A break-in was simulated, and within five or ten seconds, you couldn’t reach the room with the robot. Like the rest of the pharmacy, it was filled with a dense and impenetrable fog that made the robot and the medicine impossible to find. And just as importantly, after the test, they aired out all the rooms as you’re supposed to. Every trace of the fog had disappeared.

The importance of security fog in pharmacies

Pharmacies bear a significant responsibility to the public to ensure that medicines do not fall into the wrong hands, such as the black market or potential drug abusers. Security fog helps prevent this by creating an impenetrable barrier during break-ins.

This is crucial because even though insurance can cover the loss of stolen items, the loss of profits due to store closure is not covered.
